Special Called Meeting of the Board of Supervisors/General Reassessment Town Hall

In accordance with Sections 15.2-1417 and 15.2-1418 of the Code of Virginia, notice is hereby given that Robert Akers, Chairman of the Essex County Board of Supervisors has called a special meeting of the Board of Supervisors to be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at 5:30 PM at the Essex County High School Auditorium, 833 High School Circle, Tappahannock, VA 22560. The matters to be considered at the Special Meeting are as follows: 

1. The General Reassessment of real estate currently being completed in Essex County, including: 
   1. To receive a briefing from Kristen Andrews Foster, Commissioner of the Revenue, regarding the status of the 2025 General Reassessment, including its timeline; and to receive responses from the Commissioner of the Revenue addressing questions or requests for additional information raised by the Board of Supervisors during the January 14, 2025 meetings; 
   2. To receive a briefing from Brian Cunningham, Vice President, Project Operations, Vision Government Solutions Inc., on the 2025 General Reassessment process; and to receive responses from Vision Government Solutions Inc., addressing questions or requests for additional information raised by the Board of Supervisors during the January 14, 2025 meetings; 
2. A Town Hall related to the General Reassessment, intended to provide the citizens of Essex County with a forum to present their views and engage in meaningful and open dialogue regarding the 2025 General Reassessment; and to afford every citizen of Essex County the opportunity to be heard and to engage with the Board of Supervisors, the Commissioner of the Revenue, and Vision Government Solutions, Inc. related to the General Reassessment.
3. At the Board’s discretion, a closed meeting held for any lawful purposes in accordance with Va. Code §§ 2.2-3711 and 3712. 

The Board of Supervisors strongly encourages all interested individuals to attend and actively participate in this important discussion.
