Essex County Administration seeks qualified firms or individuals to conduct a comprehensive forensic audit of the Essex County Public School System. This audit will focus on, but is not limited to, procurement, accounts payable, payroll, revenue management, policy and procedure enforcement, document retention, budget management and approvals, asset management, human resources (HR) and payroll practices, board activity, and financial management processes, including School Division Finance Department processes and procedures, grant funds, general funds, and all special activity funds associated with the school division.
The purpose of this audit is to evaluate the effectiveness, transparency, and compliance of the financial and operational processes within the public school system, with a focus on uncovering inefficiencies, non-compliance, or potential fraud.
