DELAY IN AUDIT COMPLETION
In accordance with the Code of Virginia §15.2-2511, the County of Essex, Virginia is hereby posting the following statement:
The annual financial audit for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024, being conducted by the independent audit firm Robinson, Farmer, Cox Associates, PLLC, Certified Public Accountants, will not be completed by December 31, 2024. The delay is attributed to the County’s pre-audit consultants requiring additional time to prepare the documentation necessary for the audit. Robinson, Farmer, Cox Associates, PLLC, is actively addressing the situation to ensure that all requirements are thoroughly reviewed, and they continue to work diligently to finalize the report. The estimated date of completion is January 5, 2025.
