Essex County is hiring a full-time Finance Generalist to provide technical and administrative support for financial and procurement operations. Key responsibilities include procurement assistance, bid coordination, invoice and credit card reconciliation, journal entries, budget tracking, financial reporting, grant tracking, asset management, and supporting the annual audit.
Requires an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business/Public Administration or related field, with 3+ years of experience in finance or procurement (local government preferred). Familiarity with GAAP, procurement policies, and accounting systems is essential. VCA certification (or ability to obtain within one year) preferred. Must be detail-oriented, organized, and skilled in Microsoft Excel and financial systems.
