DELAY IN AUDIT COMPLETION
In accordance with the Code of Virginia §15.2-2511, the County of Essex, Virginia is hereby posting the following statement:
The annual financial audit for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025, being conducted by the independent audit firm UHY, LLP, will not be completed by December 31, 2025. The delay is attributed to the County and the School Board being unable to meet the required deadlines submitting information to the pre-audit consultants and UHY, LLP due to staff turnover. The County and the School Board are addressing the situation and working to submit the remaining necessary documents to meet the new estimated date of completion, March 31, 2025.
